Teenager airlifted after motocross accident

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has airlifted an injured teenager, after he came off his motorbike this afternoon (Friday 15th April).

It’s believed the rider had been attempting a jump on a motocross track when he crashed.

The rescue shopper flew to the scene in the Gympie region shortly after 2:45pm.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor worked with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic and local QAS paramedics, to treat the teen for head, shoulder and hip injuries.

He was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
