Teen birthday bash ends in LifeFlight airlift

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Toowoomba helicopter crew has airlifted a teenage girl to hospital, after she and a relative were injured in a quad bike incident at a birthday party.

The rescue crew was told she was one of four teenage girls at the gathering who were riding around a paddock on the quad bike, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which then rolled down an embankment.

The rescue helicopter was called to the private property in the Toowoomba region just before 5pm. (Sat 9th March).

The pilot landed the chopper in a field close to the incident and the medical crew worked with Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics to treat the two injured girls.

One was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition, suffering a broken leg.

The other patient was transferred by QAS.
