Man airlifted after car smashes into truck

The Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has airlifted a driver, after he was injured in a collision with a truck, this evening.

It’s believed he lost control of his vehicle, which flipped and became airborne, then crashed into an oncoming truck.

The chopper was sent to the scene, in the Western Downs region, around 6:30pm, where the pilot was able to land the aircraft on the road.

The aeromedical crew worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to stabilise the man.

The patient, aged in his sixties, suffered multiple injuries and was transported in a stable condition to Toowoomba Hospital.
