Injured jet ski rider airlifted to hospital

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man from K’gari (Fraser Island) after he was injured while riding a jet ski.

The aeromedical chopper was tasked to the island at around 12.30pm (Thurs 28th Dec).

The helicopter pilot was able to safely land the aircraft on a stretch of beach near the incident.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic treated the patient, aged in his 20s, for lower back injuries.

He was then flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
