LifeFlight unites with emergency services for Road Safety Week

LifeFlight and emergency services have joined forces for the launch of Queensland Road Safety Week 2024 to drive home the important message of road safety to Queenslanders, encouraging them to drive as “One Team”.

Local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics, Queensland Fire Department personnel, Queensland Police Service officers and LifeFlight aeromedical crews often work together at road accidents, to support and treat crash victims across the region.

Today at the LifeFlight Toowoomba base, the first responders marked Qld Road Safety Week 2024 to spread the vital message of road safety, to prevent accidents and keep Queenslander’s safe on the roads.

LifeFlight critical care doctor Stephen Cremonini encouraged drivers to look after each other and arrive home safe.

“We have firsthand experience of the devastation that motor vehicle accidents can cause patients and their families,” he said.

“Queensland Road Safety Week is an important reminder to drive safe. It’s everyone’s responsibility.

Toowoomba is LifeFlight’s busiest base, with motor vehicle accidents topping the list for the most missions in the past financial year.  To learn more about Qld Road Safety Week, visit Queensland Road Safety Week 2024 | StreetSmarts – Queensland Government (initiatives.qld.gov.au)
