Motorcyclist airlifted after crashing 20 metres down embankment

The man, aged in his 70s, was reportedly trapped between the motorbike and the sidecar attached to it for around an hour, before Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) personnel were able to free him.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the scene around 10.30 this morning.

The pilot was able to land on a nearby section of road, which had been closed by Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers.

The patient was treated for multiple broken bones, before he was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

He was transported in a serious but stable condition.
